In order to Install wizard101 on a Mac follow these steps:
• Open your browser and go to www.wizard101.com
• Look on the left hand side for 'See the game' and click on 'Download Wizard101'. If you have a Mac this will automatically direct you to the Mac installation page.
• Click on the green download button
• After Wizard101 is downloaded, click on the download icon on the bottom right corner that looks like a document. Then click on the icon titled “Wizard101.dmg”. This will open up the download folder automatically!
• Drag the Wizard101 icon into your 'Applications' folder and close out the download window.
• To start Wizard101, go to your Launch Pad (the Rocket icon) and click the Wizard101 icon. You can also go to your Applications folder (This is inside your 'Finder' which is the smiling face icon on the far left).
• You'll need to let the game initialize.
• Enter your user name and password for your account.
• You may see a link stating 'in order to view this content correctly you need to have Adobe Flash Player installed' with a link to download it. You don’t need this in order to play the game.
You can choose to go to the Adobe link to download Flash in order to view certain content on the Wizard101 website.
• The game will start patching. After the game finishes patching you'll get the message 'You're ready to play.' Click to play and you’re set to go.
• Enter the game and start adventuring!
We hope that you have a trouble free installation but just in case you have a little trouble, here's a couple of additional troubleshooting steps in case you run into any issues.
• If you get stuck on the download because you don't have read or write privileges note that you will need to be logged into a Mac User account with administrative privileges to download, patch and play the game.
• If this is your first time playing Wizard101 on this computer it will take a little time to patch. Depending on your connection it could take up to 20 minutes or so. A wireless connection is not recommended for downloading or patching as it can extend the time of the download. So avoid this if possible. If you only have a wireless connection just be aware that it may take a little longer.
• If you are having trouble with patching and it is taking a longer than normal time be sure to temporarily disable any firewall you may have until the completion of the download. Be sure to turn any firewal or security program back on after the game completes its patching.
• You can also try to connect your computer directly to your modem using an ethernet cable to speed up the download. Note that if you disconnect the router temporarily to download it will also remove other users from the network so remember to be courteous and make sure they know what you are doing.
